Notable featuresA baroque Arts & Crafts building which draws for inspiration a number of styles including classical, art noveau and Queene Anne, Romanesque and Mannerism. A distincly red brick and render in an unusual combination with oriels and early Chicagoesque balconies and Romanesque giant order gives the building an unusual sense of solidarity.
The roofline was originally composed of fanciful and elegant Edwardian motifs, the tower of which is still evident.
A rare example of free Edwardian baroque in Melbourne. HistoryArchitect: Oakden & Ballantyne
