Notable featuresLanark is important as an example of domestic architecture prevalent before the bust of the 1890s. Still quite intact it is one of few remaining examples illustrating the residential scale so fashionable during this era. It is an important example of Renaissance Revival design built for a member of the wealthy class of Melbourne. Its size and corner location overlooking Albert Park further illustrate the level of affluence and aspirations reached by a particular social group during the Victorian era HistoryBallroom was added in 1929.
Incorporated into an apartment development and restored in 2007 with a setback tower wrapped around the old mansion. Architect: Leonard Terry
