Built in the Victorian period in the Victorian Italianate style

Notable features

A cast iron verandahed Italianate (a style usually applied to residential rather than commercial buildings) composition with pronounced arched main entry points crowned by mannerist arched pediments on dwarf towers. Secondary entry points are marked by lower set triangular pediments. A cornice stagerred smaller shopfronts down the sloped sides was capped by balustrades and roof ornament.
