Notable featuresA two storeyed stone building, the Old Police Offices have a rendered street facade, with smooth rustication to the ground floor and round-headed windows and doors. The first floor has framed windows and mansard corner roofs. The roof is slate-clad. Other features of the design are the ground floor impost level string course and bracketted eaves. Originally the building faced a central parade ground edged with verandahs onto which the offices opened. Employing classical elements and, especially, mansard corner roofs, the building is representative of the Victorian Second Empire style.
