^^ Lol, I have to ask, is that sung to the tune of The Kinks, Dedicated Follower of Fashion?

There's certainly an interesting similarity to that song, but I don't think the tune quite fits. Of course Elijah B has parodied the little ditty which Baroness Emmuska Orczy puts into the mouth of her character Sir Percy Blakeney (The Scarlet Pimpernel):

"They seek him here, they seek him there
Those Frenchies seek him everywhere
Is he in heaven or is he in hell?
That demned elusive Pimpernel "

Well noted, Corio; you are quite right. The tune doubtless would no longer fit now, and it was a challenge finding words that (more or less) rhymed, especially with 'Moderators'.

* * * *

‘Ah, alas!’ cried Glóin. ‘When will the day come of our revenge? But still there are the Moderators. What of the Moderators of Walking Melbourne? Very mighty Moderators, it is said. Does not the Administrator keep them? Yet they too were made by Spammers long ago. Are they idle? I see members here. Will they not say?’

The members returned no answer. ‘Did you not hear me, Glóin?’ said Elrond. The Moderators were not made by Spammers, nor did they ever touch them. But of them it is not permitted to speak. So much only in this hour of doubt I may now say. They are not idle. But they were not made as weapons of war or conquest: that is not their power. He who made them did not desire strength or domination, but to preserve the web site unstained. This thing the Administrator has in some measure gained, though with sorrow. But all that has been wrought by he who wields the Moderators will turn to his undoing, and the web site will become revealed to Spammers, if not for the Moderators. It would be as if the Moderators had never been. That is their purpose.’

Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia is the fear of long words.
