Was happily browsing WMW tonight, then went to the homepage and saw a "Permission Denied" on the index page.

Glad it was back up nice and promptly Will. This site is my weekend fix for all architectural happenings.

Just letting you know the site is well loved.

Talk soon

Thankyou Recruiter.

Sadly this most recent outage was due to yet another hacking attempt on the server by a phishing scam. The site may be well loved, but it is currently on its last legs .... Its popularity makes it a constant target unfortunately.

We are in the process of migrating it to a more secure server over the coming weeks but this is a huge undertaking as Walking Melbourne is totally underresourced.

Thanks for everyone's continued support.

Oh dear, this doesn't sound promising. I have just discovered this website, and have spent the past hour browsing through the forums and admiring the photos. I am not an architect, politician or anyone else important - just an Eltham retiree who was born in Melbourne and will probably die here! As much as I've enjoyed travel overseas and around Australia in the past, I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. Since I retired, I've spent a few days walking around the CBD with a friend, revisiting the beautiful old buildings and taking photos for my blog. I've created a new blog just for the purpose of showing those photos, but I have read the conditions of being a member here, so I'll say no more about that!
Thank you to those computer literate people here who created this website, and continue to monitor it.

I, and I think others would be interested to have a look at your blog. Surely there isn't a rule against a personal non profit blog.

Thank you Highriser, I'll go to the Photos of Melbourne forum and post a link.

No problem, Gina. The Rules exist to enable the Mods to deal with pests and spammers who misuse the forum; I've looked at your blog and it's very good. :D I hope you will feel welcome here.
