"Also nobody is here to show a newbie whose boss, we would get nowhere if that were the case because no one would want to stay a member, and it isn't you personally. Just the way you went about replying to people who were trying to help you, like Edwardian said, you offered no information as to where you had searched and you got pretty frusterated when those helping only came up with information you already had."

I did not mean to reply in a negative way to those who were of genuine assistance.

'Edwardian' could only have asked.

I suppose text can be interpreted in any light, but I meant it not to be negative.

"Would they not care more for the livelyhood of their family over their animals? "

Fact of the matter is, no. The animals were the things that kept those who were farmers alive in the early days and the most that could be done was done to protect them. It was not uncommon to have a wooden house and a stone stable or barn.

"- Also I'm sorry but what were the 'interior features' that gave away that it was built in 1826?"

The features gave away that the house was of a rare late 1840's design. Th house incorporates early Italianate features along with some Gothic Revival. Many curves and also the pitches of some of the roofes entwine the unique style.

Like I said, I did not mean to demand.

"I agree with VermontResearch he was only asking if anyone had information. Researching home/family trees is very exciting and every bit of information helps."

Thanks Arabella. Much appreciated.

Can we leave out the personal attacks please? Clearly there have been some crossed wires and annoyance but I think this thread is now getting out of hand.

I agree. Could you please ask the moderator to remove this whole thread please. Or have 'Edwardian' warned and or removed.

This is not on.
