The Adelaide Open House is a new feature as part of the annual South Australian History Festival which is held from 1 May to 31 May each year since 2004.
There are over 500 events during May 2012 which cover a vast array of topics from railways to leadglass to conservation of artifacts to the crimes of the past.
Most of the events are free however some tours do require a gold coin donation.
Almost all aspects of South Australia are involved including the universities, libraries, churches, government departments, local councils, car dealerships, private colleges, charities, farms and privately owned houses.
