The Adelaide Open House is a new feature as part of the annual South Australian History Festival which is held from 1 May to 31 May each year since 2004.

There are over 500 events during May 2012 which cover a vast array of topics from railways to leadglass to conservation of artifacts to the crimes of the past.

Most of the events are free however some tours do require a gold coin donation.

Almost all aspects of South Australia are involved including the universities, libraries, churches, government departments, local councils, car dealerships, private colleges, charities, farms and privately owned houses.

To following website categorises the 500 events during May 2012 by type of events
