I was wondering about the sculpture too, I remember hearing the the NT were concerned about it a while back but not sure what happened.

I understand the early 60s bronze relief is to be incorporated into the new building. I agree that this is a rather nice piece of mid century sculpture, a rare and attractive object in Melbourne which has a limited number of public sculptures left insitu.

Great tip on the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery - must go down and take a look. With bronze etc so expensive vigilence is important because we don't want our public sculpture ending up as scrap metal to be melted down!
