If you haven't been watching Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries on our ABC, then you have been missing some rather good scenery of Old Melbourne Town. I've noted Como, Ripponlea, the Maldon to Castlemaine steam train and quite a few other local sites. I believe Labassa has been used too, maybe it has been shown already and I have missed it. The Honourable Miss Phryne Fisher bought her own house and very nice it is. Do you know where it is and which house it is? Maybe that makes me sound like I know, but I don't.

The first episode of Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries was shot on location in and around Ripponlea and the Windsor Hotel were Miss Fisher was staying temporarily.

Then in the second episode Miss Fisher buys a new house which happened to be Wardlow at 114 Park Drive Parkville. Most of the filming of the second and third episodes has been shot in and around Wardlow.

To my horror in tonight's episode the characters were in the kitchen of Wardlow and one of them missed the dart board and the dart landed in the door frame. I don't think this was a special effect no matter how many times I rewound and slow-motioned the film.

The third episode was also filmed inside Como House and Donkey Wheel House.

Labassa hasn't been seen in the first 3 episodes but there are 10 more episodes to come.

I have enjoyed watching the scenery behind the actors and our household plays the game of "guess where that was filmed" - great locations some authentic and some are not-so-authentic, like last week's episode where the actors were standing at Spencer Street Station of the 1920's (probably a station on the Castlemaine line).

Rest assured that dart went safely into a set at the ABC's Gordon Street studios: the blog at http://blogs.abc.net.au/abc_tv/2012/02/ ... -jazz.html covers some great detail on the show.

It was in fact platform 3 at Castlemaine station, with a "Spencer Street" name-board dangling somewhat crudely from the awning.

Melbourne heritage locations spotted in this week's episode of Miss Fisher's Mysteries were Seaworks at Williamstown, Raheen in Kew and the Old Geelong Gaol.

Wonder how much money the Pratt family received, if any, for the exterior shots of Raheen.

I was puzzling over one, Raheen. I had never seen the actual building. Please keep them coming.
