A colour video has been cut together of Melbourne in the 1940s from a collection of home movies purchased in a garage sale in California.

It's said that the original owner of the movies is unknown but he appears to have been well-to-do because he brought his car with him as he traveled the world, which can be seen in some of his movies. The person who has created the youtube video has inexplicably overlaid a really crummy soundtrack, which somewhat spoils the experience. However, the imagery recorded on film is gold.

It's also fascinating that the Yarra River is blue.

Suggestions about the locations and other comments are welcome.
