Hi all.

Someone point me in th right area to find about the below person:

I am lead to believe he had designed a Bank in Melbourne, Sorry I do not know which one, I was told only there was a photo of him in the bank.

Architect John Campbell Kempf of Melbourne about 1870-1880?

Thankyou so much for your time.

There was a John Kempf Campbell who was a Clerk of Works (possibly employed by an architect) in NSW in the 1870s to 1890s.

He was born in Copenhagen Denmark in 1837 and died at 50 Station Street, Newtown, NSW in August 1896 aged 59 years.

In September 1890 John Kempf Campbell obtained the patent for a new improved asphalta composition.

His wife was Olavia Kempf who died in December 1872 at 41 High Holborn Street, Surry Hills, NSW.

"Johannes Carl Kempf" to "John Kempf Campbell"? Anglicisation of names was common in earlier eras, but this particular one seems a bit of a stretch.

Johannes take it up "John Campbell" due to his brother taking on the name "Charles Campbell"
