I was looking forward to this report after seeing the ad's about it. Turned out the ad's were longer than the story itself...

Thanks for the link. Peter Vincent's photo shows the cutting which was going to take the Doncaster railway line under the inbound lanes of the Eastern Freeway, after which it was going to run on the surface, along the median strip of the freeway.
