Edwardian1890 - 1915The Edwardian period was marked by the Arts and Crafts movement, the emerging Art Noveau style. Typical styles of this period were the Queen Anne, Baroque, Warehouse, Freestyle Classical, Romanesque, Neo-Gothic and Art Noveau. Edwardian Melbourne was a beautiful city, however there were relatively few buildings from this era. Those that do survive are usually the more important, however.
Important buildings such as Flinders Street Station, Public Baths, Queen Victoria Hospital, Salvation Army Garrison, Paton Building and Commercial Travellers Association all emerged during this period. Recommended Books |
