Queen AnneThe Queen Anne style was mostly a residential style inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement. It was most popular around the time of Federation.
Only a handful of city buildings designed in the Queen Anne style were built in Australia, fewer still remain. This was mainly due to the materials and construction.
With complex roofline structures and undulating facades, many were unstable and fit for demolition at the beginning of the modern era.
